Taarah is a student at the Vasant Valley School in New Delhi, India. Her deep fascination with the scientific method, honed by her engagement with these subjects in the classroom and beyond, has led her to develop an interest in the field of medicine and the issues prevalent in the healthcare industry. Constantly seeking to expand the horizons of her knowledge, she regularly enrolls in additional coursework, the most inspiring of them being the “Hands-On Medicine: A Week in the Life of a Medical Student” course at the Summer@Brown program. She pursues her creative instincts by indulging in mixed-media art, working with an array of materials ranging from resin, beads, charcoal, paint, and metals, and she has exhibited her art at inter and intra-school competitions and events.
Taarah now hopes to use her creativity & passion to spread social awareness about leprosy, and has also spearheaded the documentary “The Legacy of Hope” for LEAD’s partners The Leprosy Mission Trust. In addition to this, Taarah also is currently authoring the Medical Frontiers Forum, which is a blog series focused on examining the healthcare system through the perspective of economic policies and public health strategies that determine the care delivered to the country’s people.
